Morgan Freeman is Back! Announced in late 2016, the 3rd installment of the action-thriller franchise was released on August 23rd by Lionsgate.
After the success of the first two installments, Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen, this edition picks up where the first two left off.
As shown in the trailer above, there is plenty of action. Directed by Rick Roman Waugh, the impressive shots were filmed around Bulgaria and the United Kingdom.
Once again Morgan Freeman reprises his role as the Leader of the Free World. Supporting roles include Jada Pinkett-Smith, Lance Riddick, Nick Nolte, Piper Perabo, Tim Blake Nelson and Danny Huston. Reprising his role as Secret Service Agent, Mike Banning, actor Gerard Butler also serves as a producer on the project.
Though the movie has mixed reviews, it performed well at box office, coming in at #1. Slightly over performing it’s projections, the film grossed $21.3 million in its first weekend.
