Drake Responded To His Dad After He ‘Woke Up Hurt’
The rapper, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham is one of the most successful, popular rappers around, and he often speaks of his relationship with his dad in his lyrics. Including the divorce between his parents when he was at the tender age of 5, Drake expressed how all that affected him.
As reported by Billboard, during a recent interview with Nick Cannon on Power 106, Dennis Graham, the father of Drake had this to say about his sons lyrics basically calling him a deadbeat dad –
“I had a conversation with Drake…I have always been with Drake, I talked to him if not every day, every other day. And we really got into a deep conversation about that.”
“I said, ‘Drake, why are you saying all of this different stuff about me, man? This is not cool.’ And he goes, ‘Dad, it sells records.'”
The Rapper Takes To Instagram To Respond To His Fathers Words
On Tuesday, the rapper responded by penning a note on his Instagram Page stating –
“Woke up today so hurt, man. My father will say anything to anyone that’s willing to listen to him, It’s sad when family gets like this, but what can we really do? That’s the people we are stuck with. Every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept.”
Right about one thing, we can’t pick our families, so let’s just hope this little beef dies down quickly.
