Recently the rapper made a stop at Howard University in Washington D.C. Now going international, West has planned stops for Africa, Europe, Asia and Jamaica, according to the Source.

Supported by the Jamaica Tourist Board, West is scheduled another service in Emancipation Park in Kingston, Jamaica on Friday. Though most of these events have been invite only, this event will be free to the public.

Many Celebrities Have Attended Ye’s Sunday Service Events

Many A-list hip hoppers and celebrities have joined him, including DMX, Tyler the Creator, Charlie Wilson. Others who have been in attendance are Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, Courtney Love, Babyface and David Letteman, to name a few.

Even though his fans have been waiting for new music from Ye, he announced that his Jesus Is King project would be music and an accompanying film. Well, we now have some information about the visual project. Check out the trailer below.

Featuring a gospel rendition of Yeezy’s 808 & Heartbreaks opener, “Say You Will” by a chorus, the sneek peek above also contains an exerpt from the book of Mark, in the words of Jesus Christ –

“The time is fulfilled and the Kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe in the gospel.” – Mark 1:15

Sunday Service Is Not Religious?

Though these events are called Sunday Service, West’s wife, Kim Kardashian-West says the events are not religious. When asked by talk show host, Jimmy Kimmel, “Do you pray to Kanye or to God at this church? Her answer to that question –

  • there’s no sermon
  • there’s no praying
  • there is no word
  • it’s just music and it’s just a feeling

So what exactly are these Sunday Services then? Even the merchandise he sells have sayings on them like, “Sunday Service,” “Holy Spirit,” “Jesus is King,” and “Trust God.”

Could all this just be a publicity stunt leading up to his upcoming release of his anticipated album, “Yandhi”? I guess we have to wait and see.

Dropping on the 25th of October, the new Kanye West Film, Jesus is King will be featured only on IMAX.
