Jussie Smollett suing the city of Chicago for Malicious Prosecution. This comes after Chicago filed a lawsuit against him for the cost of handling the investigation of his alleged attack.
Jussie Smollet Goes On The Offensive
Claims made by the actor allege that officials created a story to fit inside their narrative. Mainly, being that he was the mastermind of a fake attack.
As reported by TMZ, Smollett states that the Osundairo brothers were held for 47 hours. During which, they were offered immunity after denying involvement in the alleged assault.
Further, Smollett says that only after they were told by the cops that the two of them would get immunity did they spin their story.
Still insisting that he does not know what involvement the brothers had in the whole scenario, Smollett still believes the primary person that attacked him was a white male.
Not only is Smollett suing the City, but he is also naming the Osundairo brothers. Additionally, the Police Superintendent is also named in his lawsuit.
Are There Any Legal Merits To Smollett’s Claims?
After news of Jussie’s lawsuit, the Osundairo brothers attorney, Gloria Schmidt stated to TMZ –
“This is just another sad attempt by Jussie Smollett to try and falsely smear the Osundario brothers, the City of Chicago and the Chicago Police Department. There is no legal merit to his claims, and could be sanctionable.”
“The brothers were open and honest with the Chicago Police Department, testified under oath in front of a Grand Jury, and stand ready to do so again, in open court, if and when called upon to do so.”
Let’s not forget the original story. Who can forget first reports that the Empire star was attacked in the wee hours of the morning by an unknown assailant carrying Clorox and wearing MAGA hats (are we buying this story yet?).
After being spotted on surveilance video, walking the streets before the alleged event, the Osundario brothers were questioned by police.
I don’t know, I would kinda think that Jussie would want this whole story to just…go away. What do you guys think?
