Cherish the Day, a new OWN series created by award-winning director Ava DuVernay is on the way. Exploring black love at it’s finest, a truly different kind of love story.
‘Cherish The Day’ Explores The Daily Life Of A Black Couple In Love
Dubbed a romance anthology drama, Cherish the Day centers around the love of an L.A. couple. Spanning the space of 5 years, the 8-episode first season will have each episode in Chapter One spanning a single day in their love story.
As reported exclusively by Variety earlier this year, the season-long narrative will unfold to reveal significant moments in a relationship that compel people to hold true to the ones they love, from the extraordinary to the everyday.
In the first look, scenes of their combined lives play out. In just 33 seconds, we see playfulness, friendship, passion, heartache and love. Only one line is heard, when ‘Evan’ asks ‘Gently’ a simple question. It speaks volumes as to their relationship.
“Every since I met you, all I wanna do is be with you…don’t you know that?”
