Kandi Burruss speaks out on the recent events that took place at her popular Atlanta eatery on Valentine’s Day. After 3 people were left wounded by gunshots, Burruss says she was “truly saddened.”
Kandi Burruss Saddened By Events Of February 14th At OLG
If you are a fan of the “Real Housewives Of Atlanta” franchise, you already know about OLG. Along with her husband Todd Tucker, Kandi Burruss opened a restaurant in Atlanta selling southern cuisine called Old Lady Gang (OLG).

Named for her mother and 2 aunts, the OLG restaurant has been so popular, that the couple have plans to expand further to a 3rd OLG opening.

However, on Valentine’s Day the OLG was on the news for a different reason.
Someone entered the restaurant on Valentine’s Day and started shooting, leaving 3 patrons wounded. During an emotional statement made on social media, Kandi spoke out on the incident, stating –
“My family and I are truly saddened by the unfortunate events that occurred at Old Lady Gang (OLG) Camp Creek, on the evening of February 14th. An evening that was meant to celebrate love, unfortunately turned into something quite different.”

Elaborating further, Kandi wrote –
“Our prayers and thoughts go out to the individuals that were harmed or in any way negatively impacted. We are aware that this matter is being actively investigated by law enforcement. And we are cooperating with law enforcement to bring to justice those involved.”
So What Exactly Happened On Valentine’s Day?
Old Lady Gang Restaurant was packed with those celebrating a day meant to express love. If you’ve ever been there, you know that they serve southern comfort food, like fried chicken, mac and cheese, collard greens and cornbread with lemonade. The aim of OLG is to have you walk out with a happy tummy and a smile on your face.

But, on this fateful day, the diners at OLG was not talking about the food. As reported by the Blast, a man walked into the crowded restaurant, allegedly targeting just one man, and shot him. In the incident, 2 innocent bystanders were also wounded by the gunfire, according to WSB-TV.
The incident left customers and employees shocked and surprised that this occurred in their establishment. Burruss made it clear that the tragedy does “not, in any way, reflect on OLG or it’s values.” This is her statement –
“As African-American business owners, it has been our goal to invest in our community by bringing jobs, quality dining, and a positive experience to the greater Atlanta area; we hope that you know and understand that the acts of violence that occurred yesterday evening do not, in any way, serve as a reflection of OLG or its values.”
The Gunmen Are Still On The Run
According to WSB-TV, the East Point police told told them that the gunman is still on the run and they are actively looking for help from the community to find the culprit.

Kandi shares in their efforts, stating –
“We appreciate all of the love and prayers that have come our way and we encourage anyone with any information regarding any aspects of the events that occurred to please reach out to law enforcement as soon as possible.”
Some good news. Though those wounded by gunshots were not identified, it is reported that all three victims have been transported to a local hospital and are expected to survive their injuries.
