“Power Book II: Ghost,” the first spin-off from the ever popular “Power” series is coming real soon on the STARZ network. But that’s not the only news, 3 more spin-offs are also in the works.

So What Can We Expect From These Highly Anticipated Spin-offs?
All four spinoffs are in active production and development, according to a statement from President and CEO of Starz, Jeffrey Hirsch. He also stated –
“In television history, only a select few shows have inspired four consecutive series extensions, launched into active production and development at the same time.”
“These new and exciting chapters will continue the journey of some of Power‘s most controversial characters while featuring a growing ensemble of complex, distinct characters along with the high-octane drama that set Power in a class of its own.”

Power Book II: Ghost
“Power Book II will be on in the same time slot as Power. In June it’ll be back on,” – Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson
Power Book II: Ghost follows the events of the sixth and final season of Power, according to Deadline. It features Method Man as ambitious and savvy attorney Davis Maclean, a character who is attracted to the NYC underworld run by the character portrayed by Mary J. Blige.
Executive Producers include Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson through his G-Unit Film and Television and Mark Canton through Atmosphere Entertainment MM. Also, End of Episode’s Chris Selak and Danielle DeJesus, Shana Stein and Bart Wenrich. Lionsgate TV will produce the new Starz series.
Additionally, Coutney A. Kemp, the series creator and showrunner, returns as an Executive Producer through her company End of Episode.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan
“We’ve got Power Book III; Raising Kanan and that one is in the last stages of casting right now. We’re doing that right now” – Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson
Relative newcomer Mekai Curtis just announced to play a young Kanan Stark.
Set in the ’90’s Raising Kanan will follow key characters. Ready to see how the bond between Ghost and Tommy was formed? Some of the characters tapped for this installment include –

- Ethan Cutkosky as young Tommy
- Camila Perez as young Angie
- Patina Miller as young Raquel Thomas (Kanan’s mother)
- Omar Epps
The prequel series will be set in the 1990s and will chronicle Kanan’s early years. As reported by TVLine, the official logline reads:
Smart, driven and still naïve, Kanan’s world revolves around his mother, Raq, who raised him by herself. She is his everything. At the same time, he is beginning to get a sense of not only the world around him, but his place in said world. Kanan wants to be just like his mother…and that’s the problem. He’s young and wide-eyed and doesn’t know how the hustle works. And even more importantly, his mother is not nearly as keen as he is for him to follow in her footsteps. Theirs is a complicated relationship that only gets more problematic as time goes on.
Power Book IV: Influence

Influence is going to be following Tate as he advances his political career. Remember, at the eleventh hour, Tate was saved by Ghost’s (Omari Hardwick) death which meant he could step up and run governor.
Power Book V: Force
We all saw Tommy happily driving out of New York and heading to the East Coast to start up a new business. After Ghost was killed, Power’s favorite bad guy, Tommy saw no reason to hang around in the Big Apple.
Announcing he was going to California, no doubt he will be setting up a new drug dealing business, will all new crew.
Will Original Cast Members Appear In The “Power” Spinoffs?
As reported by Newsweek, Rashad Tate is the only confirmed member of the Power cast to be returning to the spin-offs. That doesn’t mean we won’t see other characters popping in and out of the other Books.
Courtney Kemp in an Entertainment Weekly interview where reveals –
“We are patterning it after Marvel, where different characters come in and out of other people’s shows.”
So there you have it all you die-hard “Power” fans. As for the next chapter in the franchise, look for the first spin-off to air sometime in the summer of 2020. Will you be watching?
