Oprah Winfrey Gives Massive Gift To Those Suffering From The Virus
Just announced on her social media page, Oprah Winfrey is offering relief for those struggling with the coronavirus disease.
A new initiative called America’s Food Fund set up by Leonardo DiCaprio and Laurene Powell Jobs is benefitting with the first $1 million allocated toward their efforts to feed those Americans that need food.
As reported by TMZ, AFF is backed by Apple and the Ford Foundation. Their goal is to provide meals for communities hit hard by the virus.
So, where is the remaining $9 million dollars going?
According to O, that money will go to several COVID-19 related relief efforts in communities across the country and in areas where she grew up, including Mississippi and Tennessee.
No matter how you feel about the handling of this crisis by our government, these celebrities have stepped up in a big way.
Others who have opened their pockets to help during this crisis, include Rihanna and Jay-Z. Rihanna joined Jay-Z to give a million each. And as reported here on drenchedinblack.com, Rihanna also gave $5 million through her Clara Lionel Foundation.
