Silento, the young rapper of “Watch Me Whip, Watch Me Nae Nae” fame is accused of murdering his cousin.
Rapper Silento, Reportedly Plagued With Mental Issues, Charged With Killing His 34-Year Old Cousin
Ricky Lamar Hawk, known as Silento (or Prince Silento) is just 23 years old. However, since his burst on the scene with his first song, “Watch Me” had all our kids jamming.
Since his early taste of fame, Silento has been in nothing but trouble. Turning an otherwise promising career one of controversy after controversy.
Silento Developing A Long Rap Sheet With The LAW
No stranger to trouble with the law, the rapper and singer is developing a long rap sheet. So far he was –
- Arrested on August 28, 2020, following a domestic disturbance, charged with inflicting corporal injury on a spouse
- Arrested again the following day on August 29, 2020, in Los Angeles after walking into a random home wielding a hatchet while looking for his girlfriend.
- Another arrest was made on October 23, 2020. This time police charged him with speeding and reckless driving after he was alleging speeding down Interstate 85 at 143 mph
Escalating to much more serious charges, on February 1, 2021. Hawk, a native of Stone Mountain Georgia was arrested in Dekalb County, accused of the killing of his 34-year-old cousin, Fredrick Rooks. After responding to a 3:30 a.m. shooting, police found Rook’s dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds.
Reportedly suffering from multiple mental issues in the past, Hawk’s public relations manager, Chanel Hudson took to Instagram to release a statement –
“Please send my client Silento some positive vibrations…Over the past several years, Ricky has been suffering immensely from a series of mental health illnesses. We will continue in his efforts of treatment, but we ask in the meantime the public uplift him and his family in immediate prayer & positive energy!!”
Further defending her client, Chanel Hudson added –
